Abstract

Global warming is the increase of temperature in the trophosphere due to absorption of infrared radiationof the greenhouse gases (GHGs). This eventually causes sea level rise due to widespread melting of snow, glacialand icebergs. Unbalance of GHGs is due to human activities, especially burning of fossil fuel. Improper city planningresults in high energy consumption, for instance the expansion of the city along the street and causing the crowdedcity and lack of green area. Thus, urban compact system and land use with land conservation for green area shouldbe the main concept to reduce GHGs.
